Uni-ball asked me to build a flash game for the launch of their new pen, the Fanthom.

They already had a clear idea: the game had to be a casual game, based on the popular Luxor. I had to come up with a full new game design, matching the existing fanthom identity. The different elements were then integrated in the flash game engine, and plugged to a database to register highscores.

It was a fun project to work on, with all these halloweenish illustrations to create, and I am quite happy with the result. I just wish we had more time to add extra features…

The game has the following specs:

• 17 different levels, of increasing difficulty (levels loop endlessly, so level 18 is the same as level 1, only faster etc.)
• 4 different types of bonus
• Highscores, updated daily
• Simple backend to generate CSV for the client

It’s in french, but I think that the gameplay is quite easy to understand…

Custom WordPress theme design and integration for a japanese logo showcase service, for my friends at Lig.

The jewelry creator Marielle Byworth wanted her site to be redesigned. We came up with clean and simple visuals, SEO friendlyness, and simple social media integration.

Her old site was all flash, very slow to load, and not very accessible. We rebuilt it entirely with WordPress, with a strong focus on accessibility.
The design was also entirely rethought.
We also added a cart with a Paypal checkout, so customers could purchase items directly on the site, and a Twitter feed integration, for fans to be updated with Marielle’s last news.

Mobile website for the Japan launch of Reebok EasyTone shoes.
I created the design and general layout, according to client guidelines and objectives.

For the second time, we did a complete redesign of the PechaKucha Night website, called PechaKucha 20X20. I was responsible of the whole design, and also worked on HTML/CSS integration.

For those who never heard about PechaKucha, here is what the site itself say:

PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images forward automatically and you talk along to the images.

We completely rebuilt the system, and also made quite drastic changes to the global design and accessibility, trying to rethink information hierarchy and to simplify the design. We also integrated the blog to the global website, and added many new features:

• You are now able to see presentations online, directly on the site.
• You can now login with both your PechaKucha account or your Facebook one.
• iCal export, to keep in touch with the calendar.
• Geolocalisation: the site will display events in your area in priority.
• …and many small usability enhancement using Javascript/Ajax.

The “Muscial Creativity and the Environment” section of Tokyo University of the Arts (東京芸術大学 音楽環境創造科) needed a website.

They wanted something simple and clear, and not too directly related to the world of the music.
I focused on a simple layout, black and white, with only #ffff00 yellow.

Audi Japan needed a blog to communicate on the many events happening in their Harajuku space, the Audi Forum.
We created a custom theme, matching their brand guidelines. I was responsible of the design part.

Red Bull Crowdcast allow people to upload live content (only text and photos for now) to both a mobile and a PC sites, in real-time. The user get a specific email address by scanning a QR-code, which is linked to an event (for example, as we did for the Red Bull Sound Clash, or, more recently, the Red Bull Box Cart Race).

Uploaded content is accessible almost immediatly, and can also been broadcasted during the event itself via a flash vissualisation module. We built also a very simple, ajax-driven live moderation tool.

I was responsible for the whole art direction of the project: from the logo and the overall look and feel, to more technical aspects like CSS and HTML integration. The project was built using the Symfony framework.

As Mike wrote on his blog,

Email on mobile phones in Japan has been a standard feature since the beginning and often acts as the primary email address for many Japanese people. It is a natural interface to participation. The time from sending your email to appearing on the stream can be as little as 5–10 seconds, so the reward for participation is almost immediate.

Audi Mobile is the official Audi Japan mobile website. It offers the latest Audi informations, an Official Audi Dealers locator, campaigns informations and goodies to download. The site is accessible from the top page of the DoCoMo official page, potentially reaching some of the 48.6 million i-mode users.

I was responsible of the whole design, form Art Direction to UI conception, while working in parallel with the development team, the client and their agency in Japan.
